We went to Le Cirque expecting a fine dining experience. We managed to get a drink at the bar and order fois gras...that was very good. To make a long, sad story short, they switched wines on us (this was a bottle of wine over $400 and their recommendation, although it was a vineyard I knew well) and when we, very politely, registered our discontent, instead of tasting the wine, were asked if we thought they switched the wine (we never brought it up) and were thrown out! Now, we can't go back for a year, which is WAY too soon for me.
